Elisabeta was Dracula's wife before he turned into a vampire in Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Biography[]
When Dracula went off to fight in the Order of the Dragon, Elisabeta heard false reports of his death and committed suicide. It was her damnation that caused Dracula to reject God and use the powers of darkness to rise again as a vampire.
At the end of the movie, there is a fresco in the Castle Chapel where Elisabeta and Vlad can be seen reunited in Heaven at long last.
Behind the scenes[]
Creation/inspiration[]
Elizabeta was created for the 1992 movie. There is no mention of Dracula having a lost love in the novel.
Legacy[]
Dracula's lost love in Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, Elisabetha Cronqvist is named after Elisabeta. Likely an aknowlment that the 1992's films backstory clearly inspired them.
