Seward, also known as Dr. Seward is a character in Count Dracula (1970), he is portrayed by Paul Muller. Seward is seen second to deuteragonist, Abraham Van Helsing and is described as a peculiar character assisting in what needs to aided for. Seward is influenced from the original character of the same origin from Stoker's novel. 

History[]

Seward is works as the senior doctor for Van Helsing's clinic, he was from the time when Renfield after being traumatized was brought under the care of the clinic and since then has been thoroughly involved in studying Renfield's illness and suffering and to an extent covets to uncover the past that Renfield has stored in him.

Count Dracula[]

Jonathan Harker, after waking up post suffering from a severe trauma, is informed by Seward about his mental health, Seward then checks on Renfield on the orders of Helsing and is seen doing so in certain sequences throughout the film. Seward is later among the rest of the group when Helsing briefs them about Dracula's dark reign and sanctifying the coffins at Carfax. Later on, Renfield becomes sane but is unable to brief Seward about his past but does whisper a word Varna. Seward isn't seen again in the movie post the sequence.
