Rather than a true sequel to [[Dracula (1931 film)|''Dracula'' (1931)]] and ''[[Dracula's Daughter]]'' (1936), it appears to be a continuity reboot, with [[Count Dracula]]'s backstory adhering a bit closer to [[Bram Stoker]]'s [[Dracula (novel)|original novel]] than those two films. [[Lon Chaney Jr.]] plays Count Alucard, alias Dracula, who is implied to be the son of ''the'' Dracula rather than the man himself. Alucard buys a plantation in the Deep South region of the United States for the purpose of [[Vampires|vampirizing]] local women. Chaney never reprised the role, and the next Dracula-related film, ''[[House of Frankenstein]]'', does not appear to be set in the same continuity.
