If I'm not mistaken this was from the book, "Covenant With the Vampire." This was a three-part series, based on Drakula. also known as Vlad the Impaler.
Daracula has two names Vlad Dracul, and his mortal name Vlad Tsepesh. Tsepesh is the name that his mortal family uses.
This version is quite different from other stories. Vlad actually made a deal with the devil, and became a sort of blood drinking demon. He was quite evil and didn't possess an ounce of goodness. The deal that Vlad made was for him to be immortal, while one male, from every generation of his descendants was destined for eternal punishment in hell. He was a horrible and vile person with no redeemable qualities. Or should I say monster. Vlad lived a life of luxery while every male of each gernaration was promised to hell. And they were HIS descendants. The series has a lot of twist and turns and will keep you interested and enthralled. However, get ready. This is not a typical Dracula story.
When Arkady Tsepesh realized that Vlad had his son, Stefen next in line to be promised to the devid, Arkady sent his wife, Mary, away with the infant. Mary (thinking Arkady dead) married a doctor by the name of Van Helsing. To protect Stefen, Mary adopted another son, who looked amazining like Arkady, with dark hair and eyes. Stefen was blond with blue eyes and easily passed for a Van Helsing. Mary renamed her true son, Abraham, and the new son, Stefan.
